The Pravara Medical Trust is the parent Organization of the University and was established in 1972 in a small village Loni of Ahmednagar District (Maharashtra State) by a visionary Padmashri Dr. Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil, the founder of Co-operative movement in India.

There are six institutes under the ambit of the University

• Rural Medical College & Hospital, Loni
• Rural Dental College & Hospital, Loni
• College of Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation Center, Loni
• College of Nursing, Loni
• Institute of Social Medicine, Loni
• Center for Biotechnology, Loni

The University is unique in more than one way. It is specialised in Medical and Health Sciences with a dedication to serve the society as a Center of Excellence with emphasis on socially meaningful medical education, health care and research.

This Year Pravara College has introduced the College of Nursing has been permitted by Indian Nursing Council to start M.Sc Nursing Programme with intake 15 seats from academic year 2009-10.

Last date for B P Th., B.Sc Nsg., P.B.B.Sc ( Nsg)., M.Sc. Medical Biotechnology & MBA (Biosciences Management) Courses is 15th June 2009 and Exam Entrance shall be held in Pune and Loni Centers,
