IIPM Fraud – False claims in its advertising exposed
IIPM or Indian Institute of Planning and Management has been exposed by leading career magazine for its false claims in advertisements. IIPM is known for spending too much money in advertising (large full page ads are common in leading news papers) and trying to put it self in a league of IIMs by throwing some big university names.
In an indepth investigation carried out it turned out that all the major claims by the institute are fake and false. Here are some points raised in that article:
Unrecoganized degrees
- PG/UG degrees from IMI Belgium are not recoganized
Campus Placements
- There are many students who could not be placed unlike the claims. Many students who found a job on their were surprise that institution claims that it has placed him. Many of the clients (whose names were advertised) have confirmed that they have not taken students from campus (but direct).
- The institute’s claims are somewhat engineered where it claims that it has more foreign placements than any IIM. while doing so, they count every IIM as a separate institution but all 17 IIPMs as a single institute.
- They claim about numbers in placement (eg, 1200 students placed till now) but not the percentage.
- The claim about foreign placements lack in quality as most placements are at peanut salaries in middle east countries.
International Collaborations
- International collaborations are either not there or are just some visiting professors on one to one basis (not formal alliance with university).
Students beware and check the full report for more details.
