National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is a member of Association of Indian Universities and Association of Commonwealth Universities.

NIPER is the first national level institute in pharmaceutical sciences with a demand for setting up a dedicated nodal for quality higher education and advanced research in the pharmaceutical sciences.

NIPER was established by the Government of India, NIPER was created by Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India.The Institute is located about 250 Km north of Delhi at S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali), Punjab on a total area of 130 acres.

The university conducted Joint Enterance Exam, NIPER-JEE 2009 on 14th June 2009 and Results of NIPER-JEE 2009 will be declared on 22nd June, 2009.
