Teach India 2009 is launched today to garnet volunteers to teach the underprivileged. Teach India initiative from Times of India seeks to harness personal goodwill for the public good. The Times of India Tech India outreach programme’s 2008 edition that asked people to volunteer to teach underprivileged was an immediate success.

India has 287 million illiterate people
Out of every 10 children who go to school, only one makes it to college
Ninety per cent drop out for social and economic reasons
