Nobel Prize 2009 or Announcements of the 2009 Nobel Prizes in Memory of Alfred Nobel were made by the Nobel Foundation that the prize awarding institutions have set the following dates for their announcement of the 2009 Nobel Prizes and the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel.
Every year since 1901 the Nobel Prize has been awarded for achievements in physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, literature and for peace. The Nobel Prize is an international award administered by the Nobel Foundation in Stockholm, Sweden. In 1968, Sveriges Riksbank established The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, founder of the Nobel Prize. Each prize consists of a medal, personal diploma, and a cash award.

Each 2009 Nobel Prize will amount to 10 million Swedish kronor (2008: 10 million Swedish kronor). The sum of the Nobel Prizes (Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature and Peace) is 50 million Swedish kronor. In addition, the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel will amount to 10 million Swedish kronor.
