The Eligibility for NTPC Scholarship:
The students whoever belongs to SC/ST/Physically Challenged categories which includes ( Visually Handicapped/ Hearing handicapped/orthopaedically handicapped) and should be pursuing 4 years full time degree course in Engineering in the disciplines of Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Computer Science, Electronics/Telecommunication from institutionor University recognised from the Government of India and must be in the third year in the academic session of 2011-2012. The students those who have been successfully completed the first year degree course in 2010 and second year in 2011 in the first attempt are only eligible to apply. They should not took or receving any fiancial help from any other source.
The Scholarship Amount:

The amount of scholarship is Rs. 1500/-PM. The total number of scholarship will be granted to 35 students. From that 20 students from SC categroy,10 Students from ST categroy and remaining 05 Students from PC Categroy.

ePASS Scholarships Offered

The scholarships offered under ePASS are

RTF: Reimbursement of Tuition Fee in full for students pursuing post matric courses approved by the University/Board.
RTF is sanctioned twice in a year i.e. September and March of the Academic Year.
MTF: Maintenance charges or Mess charges are sanctioned every month as per the rates mentioned below:

ePASS Eligiblity Criteria

• Students who belong to the categories of SC (including BC-C), ST, BC, EBC and DW (Disabled) having annual parental income of Rupees One Lakh or below.
• Students whose attendance is 75% at the end of each quarter.

Students not Eligible :

• Students belonging to the categories other than SC, ST, BC, EBC and DW(Disabled).
• Whose parental income is more than Rupees One lakh.
• All Students pursuing the part time courses, online courses.
• Students admitted under Sponsored seats, Management Quota seats.
• Students drawing the stipend more than the scholarship amount in aggregate per annum.
• Students of BC, EBC and DW students studying the Courses offered by open universities, distant mode, category B seats in MBBS, BDS.
• EBC students studying Intermediate or equivalent courses

About Scholarship

Under its Narotam Sekhsaria Scholarship Programme, the Foundation awards interest free loan scholarships to Indian students with a consistently good academic record. The amount of scholarship, up to a maximum of Rs. Ten Lacs, is decided as per the assessment of the Foundation.

Scholarships are offered for postgraduate studies at prestigious institutions in India and abroad, in the fields of Pure Sciences, Applied Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities, Law, Architecture and Management.

Selected students will have the benefit of the Foundation’s mentoring program, where they will be guided and advised by mentors from the academia, industry and the professions.

Who is eligible for this scholarship?

• Indian nationals, residing in India
• Students below 30 years of age as on 31st Jan 2010
• Graduates of a recognized Indian university with a consistently good academic record (Students in the final year of the degree course, or those awaiting results are also eligible)
• Students planning to pursue post graduate studies at prestigious institutes from the Fall – 2010 semester (Students awaiting admission are also eligible, but the award of scholarship is subject to securing admission)

(b)     GRE / GMAT / TOEFL / IELTS / GATE / CAT scorecards, as applicable

Selection Process for the Scholarship

All applications will be screened for short listing. Short listed candidates will be required to attend a personal interview at Mumbai during April 2010. The interview is mandatory and is the basis for final selection.

Post Selection Formalities

1. Selected scholars will have to submit attested copies of :
(a)     The letter confirming admission to the College / University.
(b)     Form I-20 ( in case of admission to universities in the US) or copy of letter offering financial support ( in case of universities in other countries).
2. Scholars will be required to attend an Orientation Programme at Mumbai, before the commencement of their course.
3. Scholars will have to sign an MoU with the Foundation and agree to its terms and conditions.
4. Scholars will have to take an insurance policy and assign it to the Foundation.
5. Disbursement of the scholarship will be done in installments based on the fee statement from the College/University to be furnished by the scholar.

Schedule of Repayments to NSF

Repayment will commence one year after course completion as per the following schedule :

• 1st year after course completion: NIL
• 2nd year after course completion: 30% of the scholarship amount
• 3rd year after course completion: 35% of the scholarship amount
• 4th year after course completion: 35% of the scholarship amount

Age: There is no upper age limit for applying for the scholarship.

Qualification: For the research/specialization studies, a Masters degree with 60% or more marks as on 15-12-2009 for the subject of Agriculture; Chemistry, Biology, Nano Biology, Environment Studies and Masters degree with 55% or more marks for the remaining subjects. Proof of English or Hebrew Language knowledge is must. The applicant should meet the academic requirements of the Israeli University that he/she applies to.

Value of Scholarship:

* Terms and conditions of the scholarship will change every year according to the yearly budget of Israel Government for this purpose.
* The scholarship could be partial, or in rare cases full.
* Partial scholarship will include health insurance and tuition fees OR
* Monthly allowance for one academic year (8 months only). Full scholarship will include tuition fees, a monthly allowance and health insurance.
* Accommodation, transportation and travel arrangements to and from Israel are the applicant’s responsibility.
* Scholarships will be granted only in universities and programs approved by the Israel Government.
* Scholarships for Ulpan language studies will be granted in the Ulpan chosen by the Israel Government only.

Application should include following:

1. Dully filled application form.
2. Detailed letter describing the field the applicant intends to study in Israel, specifying the University he/she wishes to attend.
3. Curriculum Vitae
4. Copies of letters exchanged with Israeli universities or the Israeli supervisor (in the case of a Research or Post Doctorate).
5. Official original academic records (or notarized copies) of all relevant studies and test scores, diplomas attesting the completion of an academic degree, including a transcript of the student’s records.
6. At least two (2) letters of recommendation from lecturers/professors who taught the candidates.
7. Attested Photocopies of all degree/certificates including the certificate indicating date of birth.

Recipients of the Google Lime Scholarship will receive a scholarship for the 2010–2011 academic year. Selected students will also be invited to attend the all-expenses-paid retreat at the Googleplex in Mountain View, CA, in 2011.
